The idea of Super Delegates is weird. Just when I thought I could celebrate the historic New Hampshire primary win for Bernie— BAM, he and Hillary are tied with 15 delegates a piece. What?!?! This is so depressing, why vote? This defeatist idea is trending everywhere, and could be very disheartening for Bernie supporters, but fear not. Even though Super Delegates may have pledged their vote to an intended candidate, they can change their minds. In 2008 Obama was faced with this same situation. In February CNN estimated that Obama had 156 pledged Super Delegates to Clinton’s 234. By the time they got to the convention in July Obama had 478 to Clinton’s 246&½. By consistently winning the primaries he was able to bring over more of the Super Delegates and eventually win the nomination. If history is our guide it is safe to assume that no matter how they have assigned their early votes, Super Delegates will not vote against the will of the people when formally nominating their candidate. There is too much to lose by fracturing the Democratic party, and possibly causing the Republican party to take the White House. Of course there’s always a first time, so don’t give up! Work hard, be tireless, get the votes! The more decisive the numbers are in each state, the more we can force the Super Delegates into Bernie’s column.

Hey, Super Delegates, over here...
Come on Super Delegates, don’t you want to support the will of the people? Isn’t that what democracy is all about? You know that Bernie polls better against every Republican candidate in the field, do you really just want to be part of the establishment? Wouldn’t you rather be part of the REVOLUTION? The next test of our democratic process comes in Nevada and South Carolina, let’s hope America shows the world how elections should really work.
